• The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of a waste to energy plant from sampling, chemical analysis, goods receiving, goods handling and waste processing ensuring policies and procedures are followed. He will develop procedures, processes and staff to maximize safety, productivity and housekeeping.The Plant Manager will be based at the waste to energy plant and report directly to the Regional General Manager.Key responsibilities: -
• Plan, organize, direct and run day to day operations to satisfy waste handling needs and plant capacity
• Maintain plant operation, resource utilization and maintenance of essential equipment
• Increase equipment uptime, capacity and flexibility through careful organization of resources, labour and preventative maintenance planning
• Be responsible for site safety ensuring all SOPs and regulations are adhered to
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce best results
• Monitor plant operation and performance and identify and implement corrective actions
• Oversee data acquisition and handling to satisfy local statutory regulations and obligations
• Produce weekly, daily and monthly reports to satisfy the plant quality plan reporting structure
• Identify staff training needs and arrange for suitable training to ensure staff efficiency and safety awareness
• Co-ordinate with the maintenance team to effectively schedule maintenance to optimize plant uptime
• Liaison with customers, suppliers and contractors for the smooth operation of the plant
• Develop SOPs and processes plan to ensure the effective operation of the plant
• Develop systems and procedures that track and optimize productivity and standards
• Develop KPIs to ensure optimal utilization of resources and personnel
• Requirements: -
• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, general management or other equivalent
• Minimum 10 years work experience in a process plant, engineering or similar environment with minimum 5 years of onsite experience  
• Knowledge or experience in waste to energy processes, or other water treatment plant knowledge will be an added advantage
• Adequate knowledge of general business management principles (e.g. budgeting, planning, resources allocation, human resources)
• High safety awareness and adopt a ‘safety first’ approach
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; (English and Mandarin) to enable effective communication with Mandarin speaking Management and reporting
• Able to multi-task, highly responsible, meticulous, independent and a team leader
